10/40 Window

What is the 10/40 Window?

The 10/40 window is the rectangular area of North Africa, the Middle East and Asia located approximately between 10 degrees and 40 degrees north latitude. This is where the majority of unreached people live.

What does the term “unreached” mean?

Unreached refers to a people group that is less than or equal to 5% Christian adherent and less than or equal to 2% evangelical. Unreached people groups do not have adequate numbers of adherent Christians or adequate resources to evangelize and disciple without outside assistance.

Why is the 10/40 Window important?

Approximately 5.37 billion individuals living within 8,762 distinct people groups are in the 10/40 window. 6,043 (69%) of these people groups are considered unreached and have a population of 3.32 billion which is 41% of the total world population.

What is the purpose to the 10/40 project?

The purpose of the 10/40 project is to continue, in the area where the majority of unreached people live, the mandate of Mark 16 and Matthew 28 to preach the Gospel and establish the church, making disciples to the ends of the earth.

Does the 10/40 project fit with the Camano Chapel Mission Program?

Camano Chapel commits 10% of the total giving receipts to support local and foreign missionaries it has chosen to partner with, a few which are in the 10/40 window. Support is used for subsistence, outreach, benevolence, emergencies and in other ways to help the missionaries we partner with to fulfill their calling which includes pastoring local churches, reaching out to local communities, translating the Bible, transportation of missionaries or goods, Gospel focused humanitarian projects, and church gatherings. The Camano Chapel Missions Program wishes to expand its missionary presence in the 10/40 window. Additional missionaries within the 10/40 window would be selected to fulfill the same functions as our current missionary partners.
