His Veterans

His Veteran's Ministry's mission is to glorify God by empowering, enriching, and embracing veterans and their families with timely information, fellowship, and prayer that embraces the whole person.

Please join us with a spirit of mutual support and and a desire to build relationships with others with similar experiences (and language). Our vision is to enable each other to grow in faith and our relationship with Christ, while seeking ways to serve each other and the community as God's warriors!

His Veterans' Ministry Bible Study and Fellowship. Starting 13 Sept we will be meeting at Tracey Meck's house at 1800 (6pm) on Thursday evenings. This year we will be going through the 31-session "The Story, Getting to the Heart of God's Story" by Randy Frazee.

Service Missions

23 Sept, Sunday, Fisher House at the Seattle VA Hospital. Join us serving a meal to families of wounded warriors. The Fisher House provides support and a place for familes to stay while their wounded warrior is recovering as an in-patient at the VA hospital. We hope to use a chapel van or car pool from the Church in time to be ready to serve the meal at 1700 (5pm). The exact time of departure will be announced once our meal preparation plan is solidified.

Oct.  No service mission due to prep for the Veterans Appreciation Dinner.

Late Nov, date TBD.  Adopt-a-Highway Litter Patrol. His Veterans Ministry has adopted Hwy 532 from mile 0.0 to 1.9 (Terry's Corner to Good Road).  Our initial litter patrol cleaned the area in late Aug. We have committed to cleaning our area of responsibility (AOR) four time per year.

Veteran's Appreciation Dinner

3rd Annual Veteran's Appreciation Dinner.  Friday, 9 Nov.  Doors open at 1730 (5:30pm) and the program will start at 1800. Our special guest speaker is Emmit Glanz, a Camano Island WWII vet. He will be discussing his experiences in WWII and his father's service in WWI. Although priority will be given to veterans and one guest each, this year we want to open it to others who want to attend as space is available. There is no cost to attend.  Reservations and meal choices are required. Contact Lynda Buehring between 1 Oct and 1 Nov to reserve your seat!
