1 Peter 1:5–7 (ESV) — 5 “…who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
The early believers faced troubles and persecution. They may have been tempted to lose confidence in God’s salvation. Peter assures them that they are protected through faith.
This fallen world can really beat us down. It can drain us of the joy of our salvation. It can leave us empty and discouraged. However, no matter what happens, our salvation will hold! Even though we face trials, we can rejoice in this truth. As you prepare for our church family worship later this morning, give thanks to God that you are secure in Christ. Prepare your heart to worship the God of your salvation!
“Father God, I am so grateful that my salvation is secure in Christ. No one can snatch me out of Your hand. No one and nothing can separate me from Your love. Though sometimes I feel all alone, by faith, I trust that You are with me. Your rod and Your staff they comfort me. As I joined my church family today, fill me with praise and thanksgiving. In Jesus name, amen.”
