1 Peter 1:20–21 (ESV) — 20 “He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you 21 who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.”
Christ’s death on the cross was not a “spur of the moment” decision. The cross was God’s plan before sin entered the universe, even before the universe was even formed. God created the first man and woman, knowing that sin would enter into His world. He knew that His heart would be broken over our transgressions, but He created us anyway. How great is His love toward us!
Do you ever doubt God’s love? Please don’t. God not only loves us as His children, but He also loved us when we were Satan’s children. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. This morning, let’s rejoice in God’s everlasting love He has poured out on every one of us. What a reason to celebrate in church today!
“Father God, I do not understand why You would create us, knowing that we would break Your heart. Your love cannot be measured. It is infinite towards us. Thank you for Your great plan to save us through Your Son Jesus Christ. In His name, Amen.”
